Evaluating the factors affecting the motivation of professional athletes in the Handball super League

چکیده
Introduction and aim: The aim of this study was evaluating the pattern of factors affecting the motivation of athletes working in the Super Handball League in 2022. The research is applied-developmental in terms of application-development modeling using structural equation modeling using pls software. To extract the components, available research in reputable scientific databases on the motivation of professional athletes as well as professors, managers, coaches and players of the Iranian Handball Super League has been.
Methods: Ethnographic method was used (12 Handball related experts with 10 interviews up to theoretical saturation). In order to confirm the model of effective factors in motivating athletes working in the super Handball League from the quality section, a questionnaire (with 37 questions in five general components) was developed the statistical population included the players of the Handball teams present in the Iranian Handball Super League in 2022. Statistical sample: 256 athletes participated voluntarily. The research measurement tool included a researcher-made questionnaire whose content validity was confirmed by carefully reviewing the texts, literature and research results related to the motivation of professional athletes. The reliability of the questionnaire was obtained through Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.91.
Results: The results of exploratory factor analysis showed that the effective components in player motivation in Handball clubs have 37 indicators in 5 general components, which explain %69/8 of the variance of athletes' motivation components. Its validity, while carefully reviewing the texts, literature and research results related to the motivation of professional athletes, was confirmed by consulting experts in the field of research.
Five components (methods of evaluating the performance of players, maintaining the dignity of athletes, personal and personality traits, set of financial mechanisms and welfare facilities of the club) were identified. To increase motivation among players, to establish fairness in rewards and transparency in payments, to create a system of competence in employing players in competitions, to maintain the dignity, prestige and respect for athletes according to the ethical charter and to create welfare facilities within the club's capabilities
