Sociological explanation of the social functions of sports on the development of Kerman

Abstract
The current research was conducted with the aim of understanding the role of social functions of sports on the development of Kerman. The research is applied in terms of purpose, in terms of cross-sectional time and in terms of mixed method (qualitative-quantitative). The method of doing the work in the qualitative part is metacomposition and in the quantitative part structural equations. The statistical population of the qualitative part of the Persian and Latin articles that have the keyword of the social functions of sports was investigated by targeted sampling, and the dimensions of the social functions of sports were extracted from 20 Persian and 20 Latin articles; In the quantitative part of the statistical population, there are 243 sports club managers and heads of sports teams and heads of sports federations in Kerman city; The stratified sampling method and the data were tested using a researcher-made questionnaire with face and content validity and Cronbach's alpha reliability of 0.82. The findings of the research showed that social functions can lead to the development of Kerman city through the promotion of social security, development of social capital and social solidarity, development of social movements. As a result, it can be said that the active presence of people in sports spaces and participation in group activities can strengthen the feeling of security and belonging to the society. Sports as a group activity, new communication and increasing the solidarity of people through participation in sports teams and events can develop Social capital helps. Upgrading public sports spaces and facilitating access to these spaces can help urban development and improve the lives of citizens, and it is also considered as a new indicator in the economic developments of new cities.
