Abstract
Pain in the thigh and groin area is one of the common musculoskeletal complaints among young and middle-aged people, which has a significant impact on the physical performances. In addition, injury and pain in the groin area is one of the common injuries in multi-directional sports that require running, jumping, repeated starts, impact, shooting, speed and movements. On the other hand, functional screening tests have received much attention in recent era due to their contribution to identifying wrong movement patterns, correcting them and preventing sports injuries caused by these patterns; For this reason, functional screening tests have recently expanded significantly in order to evaluate the performance of athletes and other active people in the society to recognize the weaknesses of the movement patterns and predict injuries. For this purpose, the present study compared the scores of the McGill central stability screening test in active women aged 18 to 25 years old with chronic groin pain and healthy women in Urmia city. After performing the McGill test, it was found that the test scores in the group with chronic groin pain were significantly lower than the healthy group. Although it cannot be accurately claimed that the obtained results are related to before the injury or after enduring chronic pain, due to the significant difference in performance in these tests, these factors can be considered as important risk factors for this injury, which can lead to the recurrence of this injury. Therefore, strengthening and increasing the stability of the central region of the body should be considered of high importance. Hence, devising preventive programs with the aim of screening, reducing the risk factors of injury in order to reduce this risk seems very important.
