Comparison of Different games on the academic progress of preschool children

Abstract
Background: Due to the fact that play plays a vital role for children and they reach important results through play.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to comparison of different games on the academic progress of preschool children.
Research method: The current research was a semi-experimental and field type with pre-test-post-test. The statistical population of the current research was made up of preschool children in Kalaleh city in the academic year of 1402-1401. For this purpose, 40 six-year-old children were selected and randomly divided into four groups: movement games (n=10), educational games (n=10), traditional games (n=10) and control (n=10). Before the implementation of the training period, the educational progress questionnaire was taken from all the groups, and then there was a training period for eight weeks with the experimental groups, but no training was done with the control group during this period. After the end of the training period, a post-test was taken from all the groups. Statistical covariance test and Bonferroni's post hoc test were used to analyze the data and to check the difference between the groups.
Findings: The result showed that the intervention (playing games) had a significant effect on increasing the academic achievement (P≤0.001; F = 30.793) of the subjects.
Conclusion: According to the results of the research, it can be said that movement, educational and traditional games are more important to have a program due to having the opportunity to practice and a specific time for activity as well as the facilities and equipment to be active. It is appropriate and in line with children's interest, as well as creating a happy and enjoyable environment, is effective in increasing the educational progress of preschool children
