Abstract
Background: In addition to social and economic effects, the success of countries in international sports is a symbol of stability and all-round capabilities of those countries and one of the reasons for the high investment of countries in championship and professional sports originates from this.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the status of the championship sport in Golestan province and to present its development strategies.
Methodology: For this method, using the mixed method (qualitative and quantitative) was performed. The statistical population of the study was directors, counselors, deputies and staff of the General Department of Sports and Youth, Heads of Sports and Youth Departments of Cities, Heads of Provincial Sports Staff, Elite coaches of Golestan
province with university education And university professors of sports managementThe number of them was 110. The sampling method was a total number Thus, the sample was equal to the statistical society, which eventually returned 95 questionnaires.
Results: After analyzing data, perspective, mission, axial values, qualitative and quantitative objectives, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats, strategic position, and strategies for executive programs General Administration of Sport and Youth of Golestan was determined. The General Office, with 13 strengths, 17 weaknesses, 11 opportunities, and 11 threats, was in the strategic position of the SO, which indicated that the organization should maximize opportunities using its strengths. Using the SWOT matrix, A total of 17 strategies were extracted and their corresponding implementation plans were developed.
Conclusion: Finally, the General Administration of Sport and Youth of Golestan by organizing the plans and association measurements in championship sport, this organization can also cause provincial athletes to succeed and triumph in national or international competitions.
