Abstract
Background:Since the beginning (1896), the Olympic Games have been held for 29 times. 3 periods were not held due to World War I (1916) and World War II (1940 and 1944). Iran's participation in the 29 Olympic Games is divided into three periodsto be Qajar period, Pahlavi period and Islamic Republic period. During the Qajar era, Iran participated in one cycle (1900 Olympics) and did not participate in 6 cycles. He participated in the Pahlavi era for 8 times and did not participate in 3 times, and in the Islamic Republic period, he participated in 9 times and did not participate in 2 times (Olympics 1980 Moscow and 1984 Los Angeles) due to the occupation of Afghanistan by the Soviet Union.

Combination of results: CheckshowedIran did not win any medals in the 1900 Olympics during the Qajar era. During the Pahlavi period, he won 4 gold medals by participating in 8 rounds, and in the Islamic Republic period, he won 20 gold medals by participating in 9 rounds.
Conclusion:Iran's best performance during the Islamic Revolution in terms of ranking was the 2012 London Olympics with the 17th rank, the 2016 Rio Olympics with the 25th rank, the 2000 Sydney Olympics and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics with the 27th rank. Iran's best performance in terms of the number of gold medals won is the 2012 London Olympics with 7 gold medals and the 2000 Sydney, 2016 Rio and 2020 Tokyo Olympics with 3 gold medals. Iran based on total medal indexrespectively, the 2012 London Olympics with a total of 13 medals, the 2016 Rio Olympics with a total of 8 medals, and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics with a total of 7 medals have performed best.
