The role of the media in the tendency of students to engage in physical activity based on virtual classes

Abstract
The purpose of this research was to investigate the role of the media in students' physical activity orientation, focusing on virtual classes. The method of this research is descriptive-survey and practical in terms of purpose, and the data collection method was field. The statistical population in this research is the target population of secondary school girls in the 19 districts of Tehran, 384 people were selected as a sample by stratified random method using the method of determining the sample size of the Morgan table. The research tool included the questionnaire of the four functions of sports media in the development of general sports culture and heroism by Henry et al. (2013) and the physical activity tendency questionnaire by Shahlai (2013), whose face validity was checked by the Lausche method and its reliability was checked by Cronbach's alpha test. Confirmed. To explain the hypotheses, Friedman test and multivariate linear regression analysis test were used in Spss software. The findings of the research showed that the media have a significant effect on the tendency of students to engage in physical activity based on virtual classes, and in this regard, the media's function of creating culture is 0.083, the media's social participation function is 0.184, and the media's information function is 0.083. 0.263 and the educational function of media 0.107 predict an increase in students' tendency to physical activity based on virtual classes. Also, the findings showed that the function of creating social participation of the media was the most effective, followed by the informing function of the media, the educational function of the media, and the culture-building function of the media were in the next ranks. According to the results of this research, it can be concluded that the media has a direct effect on creating social participation, information, education and culture, which causes the development and increase of students' tendency to physical activity, especially during the Corona pandemic.
