Abstract
Abstract:
Regular leisure-time physical activity (LTPA) has been linked to numerous health benefits,
including decreased prevalence of coronary heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, depression
symptoms, all-cause mortality, and other harmful conditions. For this reason, various
demographic, psychological-and more recently, environmental and social-factors have been
investigated as potential determinants of engagement in and maintenance of LTPA. The present
research was conducted to determine the relationship of social support and perceived enjoyment
of leisure time physical activity of Shiraz fire department employees. The research method is

and leisure time physical activity, Goddin and Sheffard (1985) have been used to collect data.
Validity of the questionnaires were verified by using Cronbachs alpha. Research model was fit .
Descriptive and inferential statistics methods were used for data analysis. The data analysis was
performed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) .Validity and reliability of the
measurement model was confirmed. After analyzing the collected data, the results of the
structural equation model showed a positive and significant relationship between family support
(β=0/51), friends support of (β=0/53) and perceived enjoyment (β=0/60) with leisure time
physical activity. final conclusion, social variables such as social support and enjoyment are
