Abstract
One of the most important factors in eliminating depression or preventing the occurrence of these types of diseases is exercise. It has been proven that exercise reduces anxiety and depression, adjusts and moderates the amount of stress and even changes personality in the form of a more positive outlook on life. Studies conducted on middle-aged people have shown that people who exercised had less anxiety, nervous tension, depression and fatigue and had more strength than people in the control group. Through a study on depressed women, it has been found that the level of depression and anxiety in them was significantly reduced and the sense of perfection and self-reliance was increased in them. In an analytical review of 34 studies, it was found that in people who do aerobic exercise and are in good physical shape. The psychosocial stress response is lower compared to the control group or the subjects themselves before the start of the study. The exact mechanism of this stress reduction has not been determined, but it could be related to the fact that with aerobic exercise, cardiovascular sympathetic responses to psychosocial stress are reduced. Probably one of the ways that exercise helps to relieve anxiety and depression is to increase the amount of opioid-endogenous peptides (endorphins and enkephalins) in the plasma. In some studies, it has been determined that the plasma level of endorphins increases with exercise, and cardiovascular training intensifies this effect. Aerobic exercise is usually said to be a sport that, by performing it, oxygen reaches the working muscles through the blood. To establish this type of aerobic metabolism, the intensity of exercise should be low and its duration should be long. Intense and short exercise is non-aerobic, that is, the oxygen in the muscle is consumed, because the intensity of the activity is so high that the blood flow cannot meet the oxygen demand of the muscle. Aerobic sports have a useful and significant effect in reducing stress and, as a result, provide a healthier life.
