Abstract
Sports veterans are considered precious resources of any society, and honoring and compensating their services is the basis for the success of the new generation. In this research, an attempt is made to design and explain the compensation model for sports veterans. This research is applied in terms of objective and qualitative in terms of research method. The statistical population includes experts, faculty members, and managers of physical education training groups and veterans of sports fields, 20 of whom were selected by targeted non-probability sampling and participated in a semi-structured interview. The components identified and agreed upon by the experts for the merit-based service compensation system for sports veterans have 41 items in four dimensions of social-cultural factors, material factors, management factors and communication-emotional factors, and its validity and reliability were confirmed by the experts. Qualitative research data was evaluated in Nvivo software environment and quantitative research data analysis using spss23 software by factor analysis test. In the final survey of experts, material factors with a convergent validity of 0.92 have the highest priority and managerial factors with a convergent validity of 0.75 have the lowest priority in the merit-based service compensation system for sports veterans. The results of this research showed that the improvement of the material conditions of veteran athletes should be considered, as a result, more attention should be paid to providing financial resources for them. Also, it is recommended that sports organizations improve their management systems and processes in order to provide better services to veterans.
