Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of punishment and encouragement on the learning of soccer players under 18 years of age in Baghmelek city. The current research is applied in terms of its purpose and in terms of implementation, it was a descriptive-correlation type of study that was conducted in the field. The statistical population of this research was all soccer players under the age of 18 from soccer schools in Baghmelek city, who were selected by random sampling method. The data collection tool in this research included questionnaires made by the researcher on punishment, encouragement and learning in football. In order to check the formal and content validity, the preliminary questionnaire was reviewed by 10 experts and experts in sports management. For reliability in a preliminary study, the Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the variables was examined and the Cronbach's alpha coefficient of each research variable was higher than 0.7 and the reliability of the questionnaires was confirmed. The researcher distributed and collected the questionnaires in person, and after removing the distorted questionnaires, 150 questionnaires were analyzed. To analyze the data, regression analysis tests were performed using SPSS software. The findings showed that punishment has a positive and significant effect on the learning of soccer players under the age of 18 in Baghmelek city, so that 44% of the observed variance in soccer learning is predicted by punishment in soccer. Encouragement has a positive and significant effect on the learning of soccer players under 18 years of age in Baghmelek city, so that 52% of the observed variance in soccer learning is predicted through encouragement in soccer. In the comparison of punishment and encouragement on the learning of football players under 18 years of age in Baghmelek city, encouragement and punishment respectively have a better prediction of football learning; that the standard coefficient of encouragement in football has a greater effect on the learning of footballers under the age of 18 in Baghmelek city.
