Abstract
Abstract
The purpose of this research was to investigate the effect of psychological factors on the stages of the professional development of team sports athletes.
The research method was systematic in terms of qualitative type, in terms of emergent analytical structure (classical), in terms of process strategy and practical in terms of purpose, and it was conducted as a case study (football, volleyball, handball). The statistical population included experts and experts who had experience playing or coaching in the fields of football, volleyball, and handball in Iran. A sufficient number of statistical samples were selected based on theoretical saturation in a purposeful and accessible manner (23 people). Research tools included systematic library study and structured exploratory interview. The validity of the tool was evaluated using qualitative validation methods. The method of coding and conceptual framing was used to analyze the findings.
According to the findings of the research, the most important factors in the order of the number of repetitions in the interviews include: starting stage: motivation (14), having self-confidence (11), management of emotions and emotions (8), personality and educational characteristics of friends and peers (8); In the stage of the talent process, the factors of hard work (19), competitiveness (13), personality (12), intelligence (12), patience in the face of challenges and obstacles (7), motivation (5) , the ability to control emotions (3); In the elite stage, the factors of competitiveness (17), mental toughness (16), patience and tolerance (14), resilience (9), having the spirit of teamwork (8); In the phase of maintaining/maintaining motivational factors in oneself (15), effort and hard work (14), being away from the margins (11), becoming a role model (10), being regular and moral (10), having an insatiable spirit ( 8), being honest (3) and having hope (2) are among the most important psychological and mental factors in the professional development of athletes at each stage.
The results of the research showed that it is necessary to give importance to each of the components at each stage of the professional development of athletes and act according to the principle of individual differences according to each athlete.
