Abstract
The aim of the current research is to identify and prioritize the factors affecting the motor competence of children (7-12 years old) based on the socio-ecological model of Branfenbrenner (1997) and through in-depth semi-structured interviews with 360 degree rotation of parents, teachers and coaches . For this purpose, 40 interviews were conducted until theoretical saturation was reached. Based on the social-ecological model , for human development, the entire ecological system in which a person grows is important, and therefore, the dynamic mutual relations between the person and his surrounding environment should be considered. The core of this model includes the child's biological and psychological structure. This structure is influenced by microsystems (the structure of the child's physical and social environment including family, school). In the next layers, there are mesosystems (interaction between microsystems and exosystems) and exosystems (including neighbors, media, social services.) and finally the macrosystem which includes cultural beliefs and perspectives. The interview questions were asked based on the five layers of the model (the average interview time was 30 minutes). In the next step, each interview was analyzed and items were extracted and coded. Finally, based on the frequency of the extracted items, the influencing factors on motor competence were prioritized. The results showed that the frequency of items related to the microsystem layer of the model (child's physical and social environment) was significantly higher than other layers of the model (p<0.05). In addition, after prioritizing the items of the microsystem layer in the order of verbal and physical encouragement of children , regular physical activity of parents and respectful interaction of parents with children, positive behavior with children in front of others , income level of parents, existence of playing together At home, school, or the surrounding environment (for example, neighbors) and the amount of mobile use were identified as important factors influencing the level of children's motor competence . Based on the results of this research, the closest structure of the physical and social environment to the child, i.e. family, school and peers, probably have the greatest impact on the level of children's motor competence .
