Abstract
Abstract
Introduction:In geno varum deformity, due to disturbance of muscle balance and change in muscle strength, there may be a change in the order of muscle activation and a decrease in neuromuscular control. The imbalance of muscle strength disrupts the extension of the body and creates the ground for putting unconventional pressures on joints and other tissues. This study was conducted with the aim of investigating the strength of lower limb muscles in 15-17-year-old girls students with genovarum.
Methods:The current research method is a descriptive research type that was implemented as a two-group research.two-group research design. The statistical population of the present study includes grade high school girls with an age range of15-17 years in Qom
province, of which100 people were randomly selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria into two groups of girls with a geno varum (n =50) and a healthy group (n =50).The strength of the lower limb muscle groups was evaluated using a manual power meter (Lafayett, IN47903 USA).
results:The results of statistical analysis in genorome showed a significant difference in the strength of hip abductor muscles (p=0.041), knee flexors (p=0.05) and ankle dorsiflexors (p=0.04).Significant difference for hip adductor strength (P=0.64), hip flexor strength (P=0.0121), hip extensor strength (P=0.215), knee extensor strength (P=0.164), There was no plantar flexor strength (P=0.83).While in the control group, there was no significant change in any of the changes.
Conclusion:The mechanical deviation caused by genovarum can cause a change in muscle strength, and these muscle changes in the lower limb can cause muscle weakness that should be considered.
