Abstract
Objective: Obesity and inactivity is one of the chronic diseases caused by unhealthy lifestyle, which is considered as a challenge in the health and treatment systems of many countries.
Inactivity and overweight are related to various diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer, etc. The purpose of this research is the effect of aerobic exercise and ketogenic diet on performance indicators in inactive women.
Method: The current research method is applied. The statistical population of the current research included obese and inactive overweight people in the two cities of Tehran, who had a BMI higher than 25 and did not do any sports activities in the last 3 months, and among them 30 people who met the conditions to enter the research were selected and They were randomly placed in 3 groups: aerobic exercise (n=10), ketogenic diet (n=10) and control group (n=10). 4 meters were measured. The aerobic group did exercises for 70 minutes, three days a week for 4 weeks and with 70% intensity under the supervision of the researcher. The ketogenic diet group followed 5% carbohydrates, 15% protein, and 75% fat for 4 weeks. For the normality of the data distribution, Shapiro-Wilk test and the descriptive characteristics of the subjects were determined by descriptive statistics for the comparison between the pre-test and the post-test of each group using the t-test and for the comparison between groups using the one-way ANOVA test. ) and if necessary, Tukey's post hoc test was used in SPSS and the significance level was 0.05.
Findings: The results of statistical analysis showed that there is a significant difference in performance indicators between the control and experimental groups (P=0.00). This shows that exercise and diet can have a significant effect on performance indicators
Conclusion: Aerobic exercises and ketogenic diet led to weight loss and improved performance indicators, and for this reason, it is recommended to be used as an approach to reduce obesity and inactivity.
