Abstract
Anxiety is defined as a personal emotional and behavioral response to some unpleasant events, where the level of anxiety negatively affects a person's behavior and actions. Anxiety is said to be the nervous and psychological pressure caused by internal and external factors that disrupts a person's balance for some time and may cause disturbances and limitations in the normal process of physiological reactions and daily activities. Regardless of the level of competition, type of discipline and gender, sports are practiced in a psychologically, physically and emotionally stressful environment, and if athletes cannot balance the athletic, personal and social aspects of their lives, they may suffer from psychological problems and athletic incompetence.
Mindfulness is a way of living. It creates more presence and less judgment in people by inviting them into the present moment. Mindfulness is: paying attention to the present in a specific, purposeful and non-judgmental way, as well as non-argumentative recording of events without reaction and subjective evaluation, which aims to increase people's awareness, which causes improvement and facilitation of performance, and plays an important role in remembering sports skills. performs Mindfulness helps people to participate in sports activities with calm mental coordination. In this research, the effect of mindfulness on anxiety of student athletes was compared based on their level of education. In this comparative causal research, 80 student athletes were selected from East Azarbaijan Province using the available sampling method and completed the researcher-designed demographic information questionnaire, the competitive state anxiety questionnaire, and the MIS sports mindfulness questionnaire. Out of 80 people, 42 people have experience in sports activities and 29 people have experience in championships in bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. The data were analyzed using the ANOVA test with a significance level of 0.05. According to the results of this research, it seems that the level of education can be considered as an effective factor in increasing mindfulness and reducing anxiety. The results showed that there is no statistically significant difference between self-awareness and education.
