Abstract
Abstract:
Background: Studies have shown that obesity causes disruption in the endocrine system, especially in hormones such as testosterone and cortisol. On the other hand, studies conducted on the effects of sports activities on obesity have shown that physical activity can be effective on short and long-term hormonal responses in people. Objective: The main objective of the current study was to investigate intermittent acute exercise and dietary phytochemicals on testosterone, cortisol and lipid profiles in obese women.
Methodology: The current study was of an applied type with a semi-experimental method in which 24 women with obesity with an age range of 18 to 40 years and a BMI greater than 30 (kg/m3) participated and were randomly divided into three groups of 8 including: exercise Acute periodicity, exercise and dietary phytochemicals and dietary phytochemicals were included. The subjects of all groups except the diet group had a written program of breakfast, lunch and dinner. The indicators studied in the research included (testosterone-cortisol-triglyceride-cholesterol-LDL-HDL) and the sampling of subjects was evaluated fasting 24 hours before the start of the training protocol and immediately after the training session. The data was analyzed using spss software version 26 at the level of (P<0.05).
Results: The present study showed that acute intermittent exercise has a significant effect on testosterone index and combined with dietary phytochemical on testosterone and cortisol indices in obese women (P<0.05).
Conclusion: It seems that the use of diet plans followed by dietary phytochemicals and periodic acute exercises can have a significant effect on the testosterone and cortisol levels of obese women.
