Abstract
Background
Basketball, one of the most popular sports in the world, is known for its short, intense and explosive bursts of activity. Basketball requires a wide range of specific movements, specific physiological needs and therefore specific physical fitness. Therefore, it is important to measure the specific physical fitness factors of this discipline in checking the condition of players, optimizing training programs and competition programs.
purpose
By reviewing the research literature, this article analyzes and presents the physiological needs of basketball and frequent and appropriate field tests.
Methods
A systematic review of related research literature was conducted. 388 studies from electronic databases (PubMed, Google Scholar and ResearchGate) from 2000 to the latest studies, by searching the words "basketball", "physical fitness", "aerobic capacity", "anaerobic capacity", "agility", " jump". ", "speed", "change of direction", etc. were extracted. 131 studies were used after removing studies not related to the objectives of this research, and physical fitness tests were analyzed using 54 studies.
Results
After reviewing the studies, confirmed and frequent tests of aerobic power, upper body anaerobic power (explosive), lower body anaerobic power (explosive), linear sprint and change of direction speed were classified in each group. This article emphasizes on special tests that coaches can use to monitor the special factors of basketball players. The results also showed that agility tests, lower body explosive power and repeated runs are basic basketball tests.
conclusion
This article has examined the physiological demands of basketball along with the tests of each factor in the background literature. We also found that various coaches and researchers are always looking for the design and use of tests that evaluate their desired capabilities in the field of basketball with high credibility.
