Green sports facilities refer to places whose structures can harmonize economic justifiability, environmental considerations, and adherence to social and cultural rights in sports venues, which are the three main drivers of sustainable development. The coordination of these factors aims to achieve the maximum and best utilization for the general public. The purpose of this research was to identify the effective factors in the construction of green sports facilities. The current research method is practical and qualitative, using thematic analysis. The research population includes sports management professors, environmental science professors, officials from the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the National Olympic Committee, managers of national sports federations, and sports facility managers. The sample was selected from the research community using purposive and snowball sampling methods. The research tool was a semi-structured interview with 20 research specialists, and the validity of the research was confirmed by relevant experts. The reliability of the research was obtained at 82% using the intra-subject agreement method. The results revealed that the current research comprises 86 sub-themes, including seven organizing themes: environmental factors, economic factors, managerial factors, cultural factors, political factors, social factors, and regulatory factors. Therefore, in the design of sports facilities, green management solutions should be anticipated and implemented in a way that minimizes future costs and damages. Additionally, all sports facility designs should have environmental requirements and attachments; hence, green management directives should be communicated from macro-level management to subordinate levels. Encouragement policies and precise evaluations should be carried out for the implementation of green management in sports facilities.
