The statistical population of the research included all professional Iranian football players. In order to determine the statistical sample of the research, 60 people were randomly selected from all professional football players in Iran. Vaez Mousavi's mental skills questionnaire (1379) and Australian sports medicine pathology questionnaire were used to collect data. In order to analyze the data, descriptive statistics were used to analyze the demographic characteristics. In the inferential part, the two-string point correlation coefficient test was used using spss version 26 software. Findings: The results of the two-point correlation coefficient showed that there is no significant difference between basic mental skills (p=0.852) and cognitive skills (p=0.589) in the incidence of sports injuries in male and female professional footballers. Conclusion: In this study, although it was shown that there is no significant difference in some psychological factors in the occurrence of sports injuries in male and female professional footballers, therefore, the management and improvement of psychological factors can be effective as a preventive approach in reducing the occurrence of sports injuries.
