Abstract
The effect of eight weeks of aerobic exercise and Pilates on mental health and resilience of female prisoners in Qom province

Background:Prisoners are one of the sections of the society that, due to the existence of the prison, have the opportunity to do physical exercises and exercise to improve their mental health, because their health is more important and their emotions have a special effect on their health. About women in prison and the special importance of women in society Increasing the mental health and resilience of women is of particular importance.
Purpose: The present study was conducted with the aim of the effect of eight weeks of aerobic and pilates exercise on the level of mental health and resilance of female prisoners in Qom province.
Methods: In this semi-experimental study, which was conducted with a pre-test-post-test design, 45 female prisoners from Qom city were randomly selected and placed in 3 groups of 15 people for aerobic exercise, pilates and control. In the pre-test stages, the participants completed the mental health questionnaires for Goldberg's Conner and Davidson's resilance questianire. The training phase was conducted for eight weeks and 3 sessions of 60 minutes each week. During this time, the control group did their daily activities. After finishing the last training session, the participants started to complete the desired questionnaires again The obtained data were analyzed by multivariate correlation analysis test.
Results: The results showed that aerobic exercises and pilates exercises have a significant effect on reducing mental health disorders and increasing the resilance of female prisoners in Qom city (P<0.05), but no significant difference was found between the two exercise methods.
