Abstract
The aim of this study was to determinate the effect of four weeks of HIT training and HMB-FA supplementation on some anabolic hormones, cortisol, body composition, anaerobic power and strength of young wrestlers. For this purpose, out of 70 young male bodybuilders, 60 were selected as volunteers. Then 56 of them with an age range of 20 to 25 years and BMI (17 to 20) were randomly divided into four equal groups: a) HIT exercise group and HMB-FA supplement (14 people) b) HIT exercise (14 N) c) placebo (14 people) d) control group (14 people). At the beginning and before the start of the study, all samples completed the personal satisfaction form in order to participate in the study and the device (body analysis) was used to assess body composition and their fasting blood sample was taken by a specialist for relevant tests. After grouping, at the beginning and end of the study in order to determine the anaerobic power (Wingate test) and for strength (Scott, dead lift and chest press) was taken and recorded. Subjects exercised HIT consisting of 6 30-second runs that started with 85 to 90% of maximum heart rate and reached 90 to 95% of maximum heart rate in the final week. The method of taking HMB-FA supplement was that the subjects received 3 grams of HMB-FA supplement per kilogram of body weight daily. Viking force brand supplement was prepared. The placebo group received the same amount of cellulose in uniform capsules. After the exercises, the test (body composition) and blood sampling were performed by a specialist and the necessary factors were measure in the laboratory. The results of repeated measures analysis of variance showed that muscle strength, anaerobic power, growth hormone, IGF-1 and testosterone to cortisol ratio in the supplement group significantly increased compared to the other groups and fat percentage decreased significantly. Conclusion: Overall, it can be stated that HMB helps increase muscle mass and reduces body fat by affecting and most likely by increasing anabolic hormones and reducing the catabolic effects of cortisol.
