Abstract
The wide array of activities performed by navy personnel, in conjunction with the utilization of various warships and weapons, leads to an increased prevalence of musculoskeletal injuries and pain among them. Consequently, exercise training programs aimed at reducing the risk of injury and musculoskeletal pain associated with the military activities of this group have consistently held significant importance. One of the best approaches to achieve these goals is to apply different training methods. so many research conducted to evaluated the effectiveness of different intervention on musculoskeletal pain prevalence and intensity but there is no consensus on which of the training methods can improve the above-mentioned factors. So, this study aimed to investigate impact of an eight-week suspension training program using TRX on musculoskeletal pain in Navy personnel.
In a study involving 50 Iranian Navy personnel, individuals were randomly allocated to either the intervention (N= 25) or control group (N=25). The intervention group participated in an eight-week TRX suspension training program three days per week, while the control group continued their regular military duties without any exercise training. Musculoskeletal pain was evaluated using the Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire. ANCOVA was utilized to assess the outcome measure, which was the change score from baseline to follow-up. The alpha level was set at α=0.05.
The findings of the study revealed that musculoskeletal pain did not show any change within the intervention group. Consequently, these results indicate that the implementation of the intervention program, without modifying the military routine tasks, may not be effective in reducing musculoskeletal pain.
