Abstract:
Undoubtedly, doing sports and holding sports events requires sports facilities that have created a place brand for that region in many cities of the world. On the other hand, sports facilities create suitable opportunities for the emotional, cognitive, perceptual and social growth of different groups of society. The purpose of this study is to identify obstacles and solutions for the development of sports facilities, focusing on the Iran Canoeing & Rowing Sports.This research is an exploratory mixed methodology of sequential type, the qualitative part of which is based on data collection method, semi-structured targeted interview with selected people and document review. The quantitative part is a combination of causality analysis method (DEMATEL) and analysis hierarchy process (AHP). The participants of the study include 10 experts in the field of Canoeing & Rowing Sports, who were selected purposefully. In general, the results showed that there are eleven factors as obstacles to the development of Canoeing & Rowing Sports facilities, which respectively include managerial weaknesses, engineering and specialized weaknesses, inappropriate regulatory mechanisms, social acceptance, events, financial restrictions, legal issues, organizational communication, equipment and Facilities, government structure and geographical issues. Based on the quantitative results related to obstacles, managerial weaknesses, engineering and specialized weaknesses, inappropriate monitoring mechanisms, social acceptance, events are among the causal structures, and financial limitations, legal issues, organizational communication, equipment and facilities, government structure, geographical issues are taken into account. Also, the analysis of solutions related to the development of Canoeing & Rowing sports facilities also showed that there are five solutions with the priority of support network solutions, attracting participation, human resources, project management system, and monitoring solutions from the perspective of experts.
