Abstract
Background and purpose: The history of Zurkhaneh sport in Iran is very old. Because some of the models of this sport are models with high weight bearing and there is not much background literature about the injury of this field, this study has investigated the epidemiology of Zurkhaneh sport injuries.
Methodology: The current research was cross-sectional and retrospective and was conducted online and in writing using a self-made questionnaire on the epidemiology of sports injuries in Zurkhaneh. It has been approved by experts in the field of sport injury and corrective exercise and its purpose is to determine the incidence of sports injuries, the type of injury, and the severity of the injury. It has been the time of injury and damaging skills in this sport. 211 people answered the questionnaires and participated in this study. After collecting data, analysis was done using descriptive statistics.
Results: In the study conducted among 211 participants in the research, 20.3% were injured in the past year, and the highest amount of injury was due to the skills of the Charkh Chamani and Push-up (23.2%), followed by Heavy Milgiri (13.95%), Sang (9.3%), which 95.3% of the injuries were injured during training.
Conclusion: The results of the present study show that Zurkhaneh training can be accompanied by injury and athletes should pay more attention to the principles of performing Charkh Chamani and Push-up skills. But the injury in this sport is much less compared to other sports. It is also recommended that the medical staff and team trainers pay attention to the results of this research to prevent injuries.
