Survey and needs assessment for corrective exercises from the perspective of female students of Qods High School, District 8, Tehran

Abstract
Background: One of the main factors of the ineffectiveness of educational programs is the lack of attention to the needs and opinions of students. Needs assessment is the first step in educational planning and design. If done properly, the survey provides a more objective basis for educational planning. Surveying students as one of the ways to create more interest and motivation to do exercises leads to the effectiveness of training and better results. Teaching correct posture and corrective exercises is one of the best ways to correct and improve posture.
Purpose: The present research was conducted with the aim of investigating and assessing the needs of how to teach correct posture and perform corrective exercises from the perspective of female students of Qods High School in Tehran's 8th district.
Methodology: This research is applied and descriptive survey research in terms of data collection. The statistical population of the research included all 10th and 11th grade female students of Qods High School in District 8 of Tehran (302 people). The measurement tool in this research was face-to-face interview and researcher-made questionnaire, survey and electronic needs assessment of Google form, which was completed by the students based on the priority of corrective exercises. To measure the reliability of the questionnaire, Cronbach's alpha was used using SPSS version 26 software, and the value of a=0.794 was calculated. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze the data.
Findings: The results of 184 completed forms showed that students' preference for doing corrective exercises is: 67% sending photos and videos in the" Shad" application or watching videos of exercises at school, 56% group corrective games, 50% doing exercises with the teacher. 26% wanted to do individual exercises and 12% of people did not want to do exercises at all.
Conclusion: Continuous and basic remedial exercises require correct planning and appropriate to the needs and individual characteristics of students, and finally, needs assessment and surveys increase the effectiveness of training and exercises.
