The effect of the Covid-19 epidemic on the level of stress, anxiety and depression of individual and team athletes in Zanjan city in 1401

Abstract
Background and purpose: The epidemic of the corona virus around the world had endangered the psychological and physical health of people and due to its unpredictability and rapid spread, it had provided the basis for the spread of related psychological problems in different societies. The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the effect of the covid-19 epidemic on the level of stress, anxiety and depression of individual and team athletes in Zanjan city in 1401.
Methods: This research was a descriptive survey in terms of applied purpose and research method. A sample of 384 athletes from different disciplines were selected by random sampling. To collect information in this research, DAS questionnaire was used to assess stress, anxiety and depression. After collecting the questionnaires, the resulting data were examined and analyzed through the methods of descriptive statistics, correlation coefficient, Wilcoxon and dependent t.
Findings: The results of the present study showed that covid-19 has a significant relationship with the factors of physical activity, stress, anxiety and depression in athletes (p=0.001). Also, the results showed that covid-19 had an effect on the level of physical activity, stress, anxiety and depression in both groups of individual and team athletes in Zanjan city (p=0.001) and during the covid-19 epidemic, the level of stress, anxiety and depression in each The two groups of team and individual courses have increased significantly (p=0.001).
Conclusion: Therefore, it can be concluded that the athletes were not immune from this epidemic disease of covid-19 despite performing physical activity in a certain style and level, and the level of stress, anxiety and depression of the athletes increased during the corona era.
