Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between physical activity and social health of art university students. According to the method of data collection, the research was descriptive-correlational. The statistical population of the research was all the students of the University of Arts in the academic year 1402-1403, based on the table of Morgan and Edonski, 384 people were randomly selected. The research tool, in terms of physical activity evaluation, is the physical activity questionnaire taken from Chu's studies (2014). The face and content validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by the academic staff members of the sports sociology department, the reliability of the questionnaire was calculated through Cronbach's alpha coefficient and was reported as (α=0.803). The social health component of students was measured using a questionnaire compiled by Keyes in 1998. In order to analyze the data, Spss 20 software was used. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-tests, Pearson's correlation coefficient and linear regression analysis. The results showed; There is a significant relationship between the amount of physical activity and social health. Also, the results of the regression analysis showed; 48 percent of the variance of social health is explained by physical activity and sports. According to the research results; Planning with the aim of increasing physical activity among art university students and developing social health aspects of students is necessary in order to improve their roles and social performance. Physical activity is an important factor in the acceptance of social norms by students and enables students to maintain a positive balance and avoid unfavorable responses. People who have social health can face the challenges of social life and deal with them and have a better social performance in the society.
