Abstract
Introduction: Kizami Zuki is one of the most common punches in karate. It hits toward the opponent's face (1). Knowledge of biomechanics of each technique is important factor in comparison of athletes to increase their performance (2). Therefore, the purpose of this study was Kinematic comparison of Kizami Zuki in Iranian and foreign karate-kas.
Methods: The subjects included 9 Iranian national female elite karate-ka medalist (- 50 kg senior category, from 2021 to 2023 ) and 9 foreign female elite karate-ka Asian medalist (- 50 kg senior category, from 2021 to 2023). The data was collected using digital video recording system for three trials. The velocity and duration of Kizami Zuki were analyzed by using two-dimensional video analyses (kinovea 0.8.15 software) (3). Independent t-test was used to analyzed the data.
Result: According to the findings, there was a significant difference between the velocity of Kizami Zuki between Iranian (11m/s) v.s. foreign (8 m/s) groups (t' = 2.44, p= 0.003) and also the duration of performing Kizami Zuki between Iranian (0.21ms) v.s foreign (0.26 ms) groups (t' = 8.68, p= 0.001).
Conclusion. The results of this research showed that the elite female Iranian karate-ka (- 50 kg senior category) were faster than their competitors in the Asian about Kizami Zuki, result in achieving the chance of point in this technique likely. Therefore, it is suggested to use Kizami Zuki's technique in Asian competitions.
