Identifying barriers to hosting sports events in Lorestan province

Abstract
Every year, various sports events are held in different parts of the world, and due to the attractive nature of sports and people's interest in watching these events, they attract the attention of the media, politicians, sponsors, city managers and other national and international stakeholders. On the other hand, these events have become a tool to attract the attention of different nations of the world to the specific geographic location of the host country or city for the possible hosting of these sports events.
The purpose of this study is to identify barriers to hosting sports events in Lorestan province. This research has been done in a descriptive-survey method and in the field. The questionnaire was a research tool whose validity was confirmed by several experts and its reliability was confirmed by Cronbach's alpha method (α = 0.9). The questionnaire was distributed among the members of the province's sports delegations, which in the end consisted of 100 people. The process of implementing the statistical method through SPSS software and using descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage and pie chart) and inferential statistics of T-test is an example for examining research questions. The test results showed that among the 6 components that prevented the acquisition of sporting events in this dissertation, environmental barriers have been the most important obstacle in obtaining hosting sporting events. Among these, the most important item that is considered as one of the main obstacles is the existence of strong competitors. Is in this area. In addition to environmental barriers, socio-cultural component is also one of the main barriers to sporting events in Lorestan province.
