Abstract
Sports talent Identification is one of the best sports development programs. Today, it is customary to use genetic tests for this purpose. Analysis of polymorphism genes related to sports performance is used in genetic tests. The association of these polymorphisms at different age periods in different athletes, trainability, response to training has been studied. This study investigated the association between ACE I/D and Actin R/X polymorphisms with early strength performance before puberty and strength performance after puberty in one group used longitudinal study.
The subjects of this research included 70 boys. Grip strength and vertical jump tests were used to evaluate strength performance in two periods before puberty (10 years old) and after puberty (19 years old). Genomic DNA was extracted from Saliva samples and genotyping were used via RFLP. One-Wey ANOVA were used to analyze the data via the SPSS software version 26.
The results showed that ACE DD genotype (P<0.05) has a significant association with grip strength in the post-puberty, but there was no significant association before puberty, and there was no significant association between II and ID genotypes (p>0.05) with grip strength and vertical jump at the any period was not observed. Also, in both age periods, there was no significant association between Actin R/X genotypes (P>0.05) with grip strength and vertical jump.
The results of this study showed that ACE DD genotype has a significant association with grip strength after puberty. Accordingly, ACE DD genotype can be effective in developing strength performance. But the results before puberty did not show this association and it seems be better study strength performance after puberty. The lower stability of strength performance during childhood is not a predictor of performance after puberty, on the other hand, the use of genetic studies regarding strength performance after puberty will be more effective in the quality of these studies. also, study of other sports performance helps to genetic assessment such as aerobic, anaerobic performance.
