The effect of 12 weeks of combined exercises (aerobic-strength) in the work environment on the quality of life of female employees of Shahrekord University

Abstract
Background: The society of employees spend most of their day and night in the office and of course behind the desk, of course they suffer from some degree of inactivity. Sitting for long hours is harmful to human health. After that, the person is susceptible to all kinds of physical and mental diseases and it overshadows a wide range of personal and social life and their physical and mental characteristics. These conditions affect people's quality of life. Poor sleep quality or sleepiness causes a decrease in the quality of life, an increase in the risk of mental illnesses and a decrease in daily performance. Inactivity can cause acute and chronic health consequences and loss of quality of life. The positive effects of regular exercise on human health include prevention of depression, reduction of stress and improvement of quality of life.
Objective: In this study, the impact of an exercise protocol in the workplace on the quality of life of female employees of Shahrekord University was investigated.
Methodology: The current study is semi-experimental and the statistical population consists of 30 people and they were randomly divided into two experimental groups (15 people) and control (15 people). The quality of life before and after the exercises was evaluated by the relevant questionnaire. Correlation T-test was used for intra-group comparisons and independent T-test was used for inter-group comparisons at a significance level of 0.05.
Results: The research results showed that 12 weeks of combined exercises (aerobic-strength) significantly improved the quality of life (P=0.001) in the experimental group compared to the control group.
Conclusion: The results showed that combined exercises (aerobic-strength) in the workplace can have a significant effect on the quality of life of female employees of Shahrekord University. Thus, by performing this exercise protocol in the experimental group, the quality of life of the employees improved.
