Comparison of physical and mental practice of movement task according to the type of practice (errorless – errorfull)

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to compare physical practice and mental practice and to compare the level of motivation in the performance and learning of futsal shot according to the type of practice( errorless – errorfull ). For this purpose, 75 non-physical education female students, 22-25 years old, were randomly divided into five groups of 15 people; errorless mental practice, errorfull mental practice , errorless physical practice , errorfull physical practice and control were divided. Task ; Futsal shot was performed from distances of 75 cm, 1.5 - 2.25 - 3 – 3.75 - 4.5 - 5.25 and 6 meters in 8 blocks of 10 trials. Evaluation of subjects was done using pre-test and post-test (Then report verbal rules), retention, distance transfer, secondary transfer. The results showed that there was a difference between the groups in different levels of learning in the futsal shot, and two groups errorless mental and errorless physical performed better (post-test P=0.004 , retention P=0.008 , distance transfer P=0.008 , secondary transfer P=0.011). However, there was no difference in the number of reported verbal rules (P=0.047). The infrastructure mechanisms mental and physical practice performance similarly. We suggest to use errorless mental and physical practice methods for futsal shot training. The errorless practice process causes better learning of the task and its generalization to new situations, and also encourages people to learn implicitly. The results of this research support the theory of implicit learning, Optimal challenge point, Adams closed loop, Conscious reprocessing. It can be concluded that two errorless mental and physical practice methods in beginners are effective on all stages of learning the futsal shot skill (which was in line with the theory of expansion hypothesis and the action plan of Schmidt's scheme).
