The effect of eight weeks of ACT practice program on competitive anxiety and stress of secondary school students
Abstract
Background: Today, psychological factors are one of the most important factors in school sports. Also, there are many important training approaches in the field of improving psychological skills. Therefore, it is controversial to pay attention to what type of exercise has more effect in improving these skills. One of these psychological exercises is actually the exercises based on acceptance and commitment, which the present article examines this type of exercises.Key words: mindfulness, competitive anxiety, dealing with stressObjective: From the present study, the effect of an acceptance and commitment mindfulness training program on competitive anxiety and stress of teenagers with the approach of championship sports.
Methodology: The target research community was formed by teenagers of Tehran in the age group of Omid in 1400-01. The statistical sample included 20 players who were randomly selected and participated in the research after confirming that they met the inclusion criteria. None of the participants had previous knowledge of this task and similar tasks and completed the consent form that included information about the general purpose and method of conducting the research in terms of the type of experimental task, its duration, and the researcher's requests. . Sports Competitive Anxiety Questionnaire (SCAT) was used to measure competitive anxiety. Coping with stress questionnaire (CISS) 1 was also used to measure stress.Findings: Both descriptive and inferential statistics were used for statistical analysis. The results showed positive results in inferential statistics.
