Abstract
Introduction: Covid-19 caused a worldwide pandemic. When symptoms are present for more than 12 weeks after covid-19, "long-term covid syndrome" is diagnosed. One of the main symptoms in patients with "long-term covid syndrome" is a complication called brain fog.
Aim: Considering that brain fog is a relatively new complication in the field of medical sciences, little research has been done regarding the effect of exercise and physical activities on it, and general suggestions have been made in this regard. The relationship with pathogenesis, possible signaling pathways, therapeutic goals and the effect of exercise training and physical activities on the brain fog associated with Covid-19 will be discussed.
Research method: The present research is a short review of the studies conducted in relation to the main title and related studies using the words Exercise and post-covid, Brain Fog, Exercise and Brain Fog, long-covid syndrome, Brain Fog Treatment and by searching It has been done in the reliable scientific databases of Google Scholar, PubMed, ELSEVIER and WHO.
Discussion and conclusion: In relation to the role of exercise training on brain fog, considering that there are very few researches, it is difficult to draw conclusions. However, since various researches have proven the positive effects of various exercise training on the functions of the brain and the central and peripheral nervous system in general, it can be concluded that including a regular exercise program for at least 3 sessions In the week, with low to moderate intensity and exercise training that have a recreational and enjoyable aspect can be useful. Regarding the application of aerobic and resistance exercise programs, it should be considered that one of the main symptoms of "long-term covid syndrome" and people involved with brain fog is general fatigue and in some cases headaches and muscle cramps. Therefore, training programs should be designed in such a way as to avoid putting maximum pressure on these people.
