Performance Analysis of Iran Sport Delegation in 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games

Abstract
Olympic Games as the greatest sport event are of the most importance value for nations, To the extent that countries use this peaceful competition as a tool in international equations. Therefor the present study is intended on evaluation and analysis of performance of Iran sport delegation in Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, in three levels: micro, medium and macro in three time periods, before dispatch, during the games and after the games in order to provide a situation for success of Iran in upcoming Olympics. The method of the present study is applied in terms of purpose, in terms of nature of descriptive-analytical type and the research process was qualitative and quantitative. In this research, the performance of 65 delegated athletes who were participating in 15 sport disciplines in Tokyo 2020 Olympic games have been studied. From The most important findings of research can be noted performance variations in the summer Olympics games, so that the graph of Iran performance is sinusoidal shape (with long-descending and long-ascending mutations) and has no stability. The results showed that the performance of Iranian athletes in some disciplines such as wrestling, archery and karate had an appropriate status from the viewpoint of stakeholders of sport disciplines; Also in rowing and badminton, although no medals were won, the result was acceptable. But in freestyle wrestling and weightlifting, despite winning medals, the result has not been acceptable. On the other hand, according to the results, the situation of Taekwondo is worrying for the next courses. Volleyball, boxing, fencing, archery and athletics are also not in good condition. Also, according to stakeholders, the performance of some disciplines such as basketball, table tennis, cycling and swimming was already predictable and there was little hope of success. Eventually, it is suggested to the sports managers of the country to provide a strong and stable presence in the upcoming Olympics with the full support of both those federations which were successful and those which were unsuccessful at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
